Astro’s Playroom guide and walkthrough contains Beginner’s Guide, Trophy Guide, best tips and a complete walkthrough. The game does not force us to go through each location in a specific order. In our guide, we divided these locations based on the chronology of the PlayStation generations. PlayStation made a name for itself with exclusive titles, and titles like Helldivers 2 and Returnal show off the PS5’s tech.

The mandatory interaction area in this level required the use of the touchpad, namely to flick repeatedly in the direction you wish to travel to move the ball. af88 link managed fine at first, but the muscles in my hand rapidly began to exhaust before I had even completed the area. There is no way to turn the touchpad controls off, nor is there an alternate control method. I handed the controller to my sister asking her to do the area for me, with the expectation this would be a one-off. Or at least some more replayable sections for things I actually enjoyed. Luckily, Sony seems intent on reliving their past in more than one way with the launch of the PS5.
Players can glide into the air, transform into a cannonball and roll their way to the finish line, become a robot monkey, and do some mountain climbing. Additionally, players can transform into a robot frog, allowing them to jump into action. Astro’s Playroom also includes collectibles that represent the history of PlayStation, spanning from the PS1 era to the PS5 era. These collectibles add an extra layer of depth and nostalgia to the game. The game itself effectively utilizes the DualSense controller’s features, resulting in an engaging and innovative gaming experience. Although the game is relatively short, it packs a lot of fun and demonstrates the potential of the PS5 and DualSense in this new generation of gaming.
The frog suit of Cooling Springs is an absolute treasure in its DualSense use, though the levels are not necessarily my favorites. My favorite of them is GPU Jungle’s full robotic monkey suit, which leads to vertically-scrolling, 2D-view levels. The final boss is a deep cut reference to a classic PS1 tech demo that you’ll immediately recognize if you’ve been gaming with PlayStation long enough and it was a real treat to experience. Without spoiling anything, Astro’s Playroom essentially takes place inside the inner workings of a PS5 console.
Jump onto the thin ledge behind the tree and head left to the Everybody’s Golf VR easter egg. From here you can jump back down to cloud blowing the rotating platform, with the Piposaru container nearby. To do this, continue through the level until you get to the part where you have to ride on a PS1 / PS1 controller cloud. Instead of jumping left to the next Checkpoint, you should jump up the ledges on the rock wall to get to the top.
The slight downside is that Astro’s Playroom is concise, as completing the game will take you an hour and a half. However, there are many collectibles to obtain, and Team Asobi has added free content updates. If you ever wanted to earn a platinum trophy, this is the game to do it. Fortunately, Astro’s Playroom has dynamic jumping, which means that holding down X will result in a much bigger jump than just tapping X.

For example, the roller ball goes from being asphalt paths to a pinball machine-like level, while the ship mostly stays the same but has a fun boss to beat with its rockets. In between each standard platforming level are dedicated sections to unique suits for Astro. Memory Meadow, for instance, Astro becomes a little roller ball that uses the Dualsense’s trackpad for control instead of the left thumbstick. Astro’s Playroom is a very simple and small in-scale and scope game. Every bit of platforming presents almost no challenge, and so do the enemies.
Run Astro Run!
Puzzle pieces are hidden about in each level too that when collected will fill in murals back in the HUB area. Time trial levels can be unlocked later and competing with others online to see who can finish a level in the best time can be quite addictive. The PlayStation 5 even gives me notifications when I get online if someone on my friends list beat my score which makes me want to keep jumping back in to take my spot back. The trophies in Astro Playroom are categorized by difficulty‚ with bronze being the easiest and platinum the most challenging.
Before we get to that, we’ll first need to find the GT driver’s artifact. From here, jump over to the wooden platform up the tree, cross over the DualShock Cable to another platform, then defeat the Spiky on it. Check the tree trunk here to find the clock depicted on the tube’s screen earlier. Every single device, or UMD or game disc, is lovingly crafted right down to the movable thumbsticks of a controller, or the input and output ports on the back of a console.
Every review comes from a verified owner of this game or item and is evaluated by a team of moderators. The game is free for all PS5 console users and is designed to be enjoyed by gamers and families alike.
A sequel to Astro Bot Rescue Mission, the game comes pre-installed on every console, serving additionally as a free tech demo for the DualSense controller. Although the game does go out of its way to demonstrate the various abilities of the DualSense controller it’s also a celebration of all PlayStation consoles up to this point. There isn’t a specific way to get these items only, you just have to keep rolling until you get them.
Basically, it means that the triggers can offer resistance if you’re trying to perform some task that requires a lot of effort. With the feature turned off, the triggers will do a full pull as normal. But once activated, the triggers might stop halfway into a pull, requiring extra effort to “push past” the resistance to get a full trigger pull. Ico, The Last Guardian, Demon’s Souls, Patapon are all things of the past. In Sony’s new reality, there’s seemingly no more room for funding titles that resist Western trends and set their own.
It takes you through the vibration, adaptive triggers, touchpad, motion sensor and microphone. But once you do dive in, there’s no shortage of joy that comes from how Team Asobi has translated in-game surfaces, objects, and movement into different DualSense sensations. As the PlayStation pack-in title for the PlayStation 5, Astro’s Playroom is a short and masterful experience. While it was originally just a tech demo for the DualSense, it offers a colorful and expertly crafted platforming game to tie in all of that controller’s features. Need to get back to it for the special bots, downloaded it the other day but just haven’t got around to it. (LeMans and other duties) @BrettAwesome It’s been updated, hasn’t it.
